you left me marked
not held
i press the wound
even blood
knows how to scatter
your fingerprints
decaying on my skin
blue-black
violet thinning green
composting under the surface
turned to soil
i never asked to grow in
i will peel you off me
a scab
that thought it was skin
flesh remembers
wears it
but even scars forget
who made them
scars.
